My Review
4.5 stars easy!!Two words. Fast paced. There was so much going on. The story flipped from distant past to present to recent past then flashed forward. It was a little hard not to get lost and I greatly regret not reading the Sociopath Duet first. There are a lot of characters at play here and it was difficult to connect to all of them or truly understand their roles and motives. It was obvious that I was missing something with regards to the backstory and you better believe I will be going back to discover it.
This book was intense. It was chock full of hatred, betrayal, vengeance, abuse, aggression, torture, violence, blood, death, lust, obsession and love. Dominic and Rosa were like a car wreck you can't look away from. Utterly fascinating. It didn't take long for me to become completely invested in their relationship. I also creepily wanted to know more about each of their pasts. Dominic's was an extreme nightmare and what Rosa went through (still not completely clear) wasn't exactly pleasant.
If I were to offer a word of advice? Take the words of warning seriously. This is a dark mafia romance and deals with themes that may not be suitable for all readers. Ain't nothing pretty about it. You won't find hearts and flowers and poetic prose. What you will find is something raw, dramatic, and incredible with a realness that has to be read to be believed.
P.S. Dominic's internal musings, at times, cracked my azz up!! His sardonic humour was hilarious and I hope to see more of it in the next book. Obviously he was my favourite character!!
