The universe works in mysterious ways.
Well, it did for me, anyway.
It was like it knew that I needed him.
It put him in my life during a time I honestly thought I couldn’t go on.
He was broken. I was broken.
We only had one thing to offer each other – friendship.
A true, deep, incredible friendship.
Laughter fixed us.
Talking bonded us.
He quickly became my everything.
This is our story.
I can’t promise it’s always perfect.
It might make you laugh.
It might make you cry.
It might even make you fall in love.
It's real.
It's ours.
It’s us. Besties.

MY REVIEW
This book was very highly anticipated by yours truly. When I found out that elements of this story came from the events that took place in the author's life (she had her own Bestie), I knew I had to read it. Who doesn't like something that offers a glimpse into who someone is and why? So of course I grabbed the opportunity when it came up.Molly (daughter of Maddox) was living the good life. Amazing family, awesome friends, and a boyfriend she was happy to be in love with. That is until said boyfriend dumped her without an explanation. Heartbroken and unsure of what to do or who to turn to, along comes Roman who appoints himself as her new Bestie. Roman was broken too. After a nasty breakup, he was at a loss as to how to even move on.
So Molly and Roman helped each other out by being friends and supporting each other through their heartbreak. Unfortunately, they rebound with each other, which is obviously an easy way to further break one's heart. It didn't help that Roman was busy convincing Molly and himself that he was still very much in love with his ex. An ex that everyone, including myself, could see was undeserving of his affection and attention. I think that was the most disappointing part of the story. Although it made Roman's pain real and his actions gave his feelings some authenticity, it also made him come across as weak and pathetic. Also blind. WTH?! And Molly wasn't any better because she kept chasing after Roman while he was stuck in his confusion. Any claims he made regarding moving on or wanting/needing Molly came off as pretty unbelievable. I didn't trust it or believe in their HFN (if that was what I really got there in the end).
Overall, this book was raw and real and painful and, for many people, it was true. Be prepared for some major heart-string pulling!
