Perhaps some promises should be broken….
Theophile
The price of freedom was as simple as a promise. Fifteen more years in jail, or a marriage. I agreed and didn’t look back, until the circus came to town.
Wolfgang
Leaving England behind for a small town in Wisconsin meant two more years of freedom for my family, which is my everything. Then I met Theophile, an irresistibly intriguing woman whose heart I will claim, regardless of the fact that she made a promise to one of the greediest and wealthiest men on earth: my father, King Valentine.
A deeply moving—and gripping—modern-day fairytale about a spirited woman whose scruples are tested when her life is turned upside down by a larger-than-life candy heir and his eccentric circus family. A gut-wrenching, sweet, and magical read filled with humor, tragedy, and a cast of endearing characters that will steal your heart.

MY REVIEW
This was my first jaunt into the wonderful world of A. Wilding Wells and what a fantastical journey it was!! MASTERING THE ART OF A THREE RING CIRCUS had incredible world building, the plot was easy to follow, the characters were bizarrely beautiful (yes, even Duchess), and the love found between its pages was utterly life-altering!Theophile was one tough cookie. The horrors that she faced as a child were heartbreaking. No child should ever have to suffer the atrocities that she did. But she not only survived, she thrived. She made a life for herself and lived it on her terms, even if it was on borrowed time. She was moral and just with a huge heart and a strong code of ethics. She believed that promises were made to be kept. One was only as good as their word. And she had been waiting her whole life to be loved. How sweet that the love she finally found with Wolfgang was unlike any other? Who other than Theophile was worthy of the wondrous love only Wolfgang could give?
Wolfgang was a tortured and magnificent soul. He was seductive and confident (borderline cocky at times), but had so many amazing moments of vulnerability and humility. This man had so much heart and had absolutely no problem EVER showing it. He gave it to EVERYONE and this was one of his most admirable traits. Seeing the world through his eyes was both breathtaking and overwhelming. He saw such light and beauty although he had lived and survived immense darkness. The way he looked at, really saw, and felt for Theophile was awesome. Any woman, including myself, would give anything in the world for that and be forever grateful. It was extremely easy to fall in love with Wolfgang and to hope and pray that all of his wishes came true.
My three wishes:
1. That everyone buys a copy of this book!
2. That the author continues to write inspiring and delightful tales just like this one!
3. That everyone experiences the love as described in this book!
