Some girls don’t like pretty things.
Some girls like things that are destructive, and toxic. Things that fuel our bodies with adrenaline and bring our demons to their knees.
They say magic isn’t real, but it’s it the closest way to describe love? It doesn’t exist physically. It merely exists around us, within us, possessing our souls and making us do stupid shit. Shit like falling in love with a boy who knows how to rip my world apart and raise hell with a simple flick of his wrist. Their secrets are now mine. I’m not just in the middle of this game, I’m helping orchestrate it. Can the cries of my aching soul be enough to drown out the burning embers of my mistakes?
The mind strengthens the heart, roughing the edges to prepare it for war. This is a war I will not win.
This is a war of fate.

★★★★✩
Welcome to a story about a brotherhood of mayhem and destruction and the one girl who could topple a kingdom. The Elite Kings are up to their same old tricks - secrets and games - and Tillie offers herself up as tribute. Willing or not, she's playing and she hopes to win. Nate may be her one true love, but forgiving him and letting him back into her heart won't be easy. And although we find out the whys of so many WTH moments, new facts arise, making me wonder what happens next.I highlighted so much of this book it's ridiculous. I was left dangling at so many points in this story that I'm questioning if I'll ever see the whole thing clearly. Getting a glimpse into Amo's mind is a like a psychedelic trip and I only hunger for more. I want to dissect it all, find the hidden meaning, learn everything. I'm just as lost now as I was at the end of the first book. Isn't that something? This series is a mindfck mystery that I can't help but love. Getting the the whys and the hows is a huge part of the thrill. The characters have a lot in common but the author created them with such unique distinction, with each of them offering something the other doesn't have. They're gorgeous, rich and cunning, and not to be messed with. The Elite Kings are the dominion, having it all is never enough, and being a pawn is almost inevitable. Tillie is a character with immense inner strength, surviving and coping and thriving. I loved how she worked these boys, bending them to her will, manipulating their reactions, and finding a way to get hers in the end.
I think it was pretty obvious that the story isn't over. I'm not happy with the way things have shaped up for Bishop and Madison and I'm crossing my fingers that the author finds a way to fix this. Stop messing with my heart, Amo!! I'm serious. There were certain things that I wasn't pleased with in this story, things that seem to be typical for this genre, but the story was so good that it was easy to overlook them. Filled with angst and drama and hope and despair, The Elite Kings series will mess with you in the best of ways.

About the Author
Amo Jones is a small country girl totally winging this author thing (she's probably doing it all wrong). She likes cake, loves wine, and her religion is magic. She's a profound work-a-holic, but when she's not writing, you can find her chilling with her kids & partner at the nearest beach, with a cocktail in her hand. New Zealand is not a state of Australia and rugby is the best sport ever played.
