She's facing her fears and taking a chance
After uncovering Logan's deception at the end of the last book, I wasn't sure what to expect for this couple going forward. I was caught off guard by the secret Logan was keeping. What the heck, dude? I couldn't find fault with Ellie's reaction or her instant disgust, distrust and anger. Her feelings were perfectly understandable and I was ready to sit back and watch this sexy guy, who was used to getting his own way, grovel until he could grovel no more. And he did just that. I sure do love humbling moments! Okay, so Logan's secret is out, Ellie takes a break until Logan convinces her to give him another chance, and psychos aplenty are running around on the streets of New Orleans. As happy as I was for this couple to finally be on the same page, I was on edge waiting for the next shoe to drop. And I didn't have to wait for long because the author gave us another doozy of a cliffhanger. What the heck???In the first book, I didn't feel any sort of connection to these characters, but now... Our bond is tight! I'm completely on board with these two and although there were moments where I was confused by how they handled certain situations, I figured it worked for the story so I can't complain. I may have no idea where this story is heading next, but I do know that this author won't let me down!
Review of book 1, Unravel
Synopsis
Is it possible to make up for the way we have hurt others?I wonder if it truly is.
Can we undo what has already been done?
No. We can’t.
I know for a fact, we cannot un-say words that have been bitterly spoken by a deliberate slip of a tongue.
Words hurt.
They sting.
They burn.
The truth is, I didn’t want to hurt Ellie Wynn, but I knew I would.
She was a temptation I couldn’t resist. An addiction that lived in my blood, and I wasn’t about to go in search of a cure.
Not when I needed her.
Wanted her.
Craved her.
There are no quick fixes to what I’ve done.
No pill to take away her pain.
All I have is the cold truth.
It’s brittle.
It’s brutal.
I’ll be damned if because of it, I let her slip away.
