WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words.
The three W’s stand for:
What did you recently finish reading?
What are you currently reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
I didn't read as much this week. School starts soon for my kids and my daughter starts university soon so that kept me pretty busy. However, what I did read, I hella enjoyed! The books I finished were:
The Business of Lovers by Eric Jerome Dickey - I got a copy of this through the publisher and it reminded why I enjoy this author's writing so much. This is a story about heartbreak, hardships, family and love. An easy book recommendation for those who enjoy urban fiction.
My Fallen Saint by J. Kenner - this story is a second chance romance, which are some of my favorite stories. I adored Saint and my only major complaint about the book was that it was told through a singular perspective. It didn't work for me.
A Wicked Song by Lisa Renee Jones - picking up where the last book left off, Aria has fallen even harder for Kace (and really, who could resist him?) and the hunt for secrets is still on. I'm still not really getting the mystery surrounding Aria and I'm not feeling the magic of this story. If it weren't for the hero and my wanting to know everything about him, I'd probably give this trilogy up.
The Princess Knight by G.A. Aiken - between the action, the humor, the ridiculous banter and shenanigans, this story was another fantastic read from this author. I'm loving this story and I'm excited to get my hands on the next book!

What I'm reading now:
Unholy Union by Natasha Knight - a dark romance that has me absolutely hooked! I don't really understand the history between the characters, but the learning process is definitely interesting.

What I'm reading next:
I still have ARCs to read and plenty of books on my shelves that I haven't gone through yet, so I'll find something.

Looks like a mixed week of reading for you - Sorry to hear two books slightly disappointed you. Sounds like your current read is making up for it though! Take care and happy reading! 😃
ReplyDeleteHere's what I've been reading: https://thebookwormchronicles.wordpress.com/2020/08/12/www-wednesday-12th-august-2020/ 🙂
Thanks so much, Jessica!
DeleteHappy Reading :)
I think you did well finishing up four books! And The Princess Knight -- I am loving that cover!
ReplyDeleteThe story more than lives up to that stunning cover!
DeleteUnholy union looks really good
ReplyDeleteIt is. The heroine is a wee bit annoying, but I expected that seeing as she's only 18.
DeleteThe Princess Knight sounds like fun. Enjoy your week and your books, and thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteAny time. And The Princess Knight was tons of fun!
DeleteThat's a bummer that Kenner's book was just told from one perspective. I haven't read one of her books in a while. Guess I will probably pass on this one. I would have considered it if you had been raving about it because I have liked what I read of hers. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI've actually loved her latest books, but they had dual perspectives. I'm not sure why she went with the single perspective this time. It really took away from the story for me. Which sucks, because the premise is really good!
DeleteHappy reading, Deanna!

ReplyDeleteMe too! And it's going good so far :)
DeleteIt looks like you had a mix of books this week - I hope you find more that you love next week!
ReplyDeleteAnd I feel the same about what to read next - I tend to only make a plan for that once I write my post
Glad I'm not the only one :)
DeleteThanks so much and happy reading!
I prefer dual or multi perspective romances as well!

How am I supposed to feel like I'm in the heads of the characters if there's only one voice?
DeleteThank you for taking the time to leave a comment because I absolutely love getting and giving them!
