WWW Wednesday - October 14

October 14, 2020

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words.

The three W’s stand for:

What did you recently finish reading?
What are you currently reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

I missed last week's post because my blog exploded.
Somehow, all of the images on my blog got deleted. I've been painstakingly putting my site back together, one post at a time. Do you know how tedious and time-consuming and painful this process is? I think I'm about half done. Or maybe I'm just hoping I am. It's affecting my reading time, my family time, my 'me' time. A part of me thinks about just trashing whatever's left and moving on. But I won't.

Okay, back to this post...

What I've Read

What I'm Reading
Juniper Unraveling by Keri Lake - Papa says everyone has a story that deserves to be told.

Most begin years ago, after the second bomb hit, unearthing a deadly contagion that divided the population into the pure, the infected, and the Ragers.

Many recount the moment we rose up from the ashes and started anew.

Others tell of the day we built a wall to keep them out.

For some, they’re nothing more than the vestiges left behind—a simple name carved into the knotty bark of a Juniper tree.

My story begins with a boy. A mute, from the other side of the wall, known only as Six, who touched my heart in ways that words never could, and gave me the courage to face my darkest truth.

Warning: This book contains explicit sexual content, and violent scenes that some readers may find disturbing.

What I'll Read Next
I've still got plenty of library books to get through and books on my shelves. Not to mention my bookhaul I haven't made even a bit of a dent in. So I'm keeping my options open.

Happy Reading!

  1. Oh, losing images is the worst! That happened to me a few years ago when I inadvertently did something that created the disaster. Good luck putting them back! It is tedious, but worth it.

Enjoy your reading...and thanks for visiting my blog.

  2. Oh, no! I hate when something like that happens to a website. Unless you've done it yourself, you just don't know the work that's involved. So I really feel for you. Good luck putting it all back together!

Here's my WWW (as if you have time to read it ;-) https://bargainsleuth2010.wordpress.com/2020/10/14/www-wednesday-october-fourteenth/

  3. I feel you on blog disasters. Mine wasn't that bad, but I did spend hours over 3 days on the phone trying to get everything running the way it was supposed to. I think if the posts are really old, maybe don't fix them? Just focus on the new? Easier said than done, I know. Sorry it's taking up so much time and energy. IT SUCKS.

    1. It sucks so bad, Deanna. So so bad. I was going to leave the old ones alone. I already deleted some of the promo posts because those releases/cover reveals/teasers etc. are old and who really cares. At least that knocked out some of the work. But it's the review graphics and teasers I created and gifs I saved that are now gone that are killing me. So yeah, I have no idea when this will be done (I'll probably post an excited YAY post when it's over), but it will be done. And hopefully I'll get back to reading in the process. I've been reading the same damn book for SIX DAYS!! It's never taken me that long to read a book. One day, two at most, but almost a week?! Ridiculous.

And WOW this reply is long LOL

  4. Aw, I am sorry to hear that you lost all your images for your posts, that is so awful/frustrating! I really hope it won't too much longer to upload everything and for you to able to get back your reading, family and some 'you' time! 🙏📚😃

Here’s my WWW post for this week: https://thebookwormchronicles.wordpress.com/2020/10/14/www-wednesday-14th-october-2020/ 🙂

  5. I'm sorry to hear about the images! If it makes you feel better, I lost all of my sidebars when I switched themes and now I have to manually go back and add the sidebar back to each and every post...I still haven't finished it. Also, Juniper Unraveling sounds so good!

    1. Ouch! I'm sorry to hear about your sidebars. It doesn't make me feel better, but it does make me feel understood. Good luck with putting it all back together!!

And Juniper Unraveling is good! It's an apocalyptic dystopian zombie romance. A perfect October read :)

  7. Omg that sucks :( I definitely understand the impulse to trash it and move on but the need to slog on and get it finished. I hope it really is half-way done...

Also! I love your picture. It's so great that your daughter drew that of you :) How old is she?

I'm probably exaggerating by saying I'm halfway done. I'm hoping that I am. Still here, slogging through. I'm off to check out your update!
