WWW WEDNESDAY - NOVEMBER 18

November 18, 2020

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words.

The three W’s stand for:

What did you recently finish reading?
What are you currently reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

I think everyone knows by now that my reading has hit a slump. I'm unable to really focus, nothing much is grabbing my attention, and I'm finding it hard to get invested. I'm really, really hoping this changes soon. Something's gotta give! I hope you all have been having an amazing week and that none of you are having the reading blues.

What I've Read

Wanted: an Outlaw anthology
20 books by 20 authors. While most of them were just 'meh', some of them were hidden gems. So technically, I did read twenty books this week. That's amazing!

What I'm Reading

lord of london town
Lord of London Town by Tillie Cole ~ it's a dark romance that really speaks to me. I think this may be just the book I need to get me out of my funky mood. Arthur Adley sounds like a better looking version of Cillian Murphy. Arthur and his family remind me of a modern day Peaky Blinders and it's amazing. I'm sure I'll have plenty of PB gifs/jpgs in my upcoming review.

What I'll Read Next

I'm still keeping my options open. I'm finding if I don't lock myself into something, I feel better about it. Right now, that's the best I can do.

  2. 20 books is quite the accomplishment! It's nice to find some hidden gems in a collection as well. I hope your next read is a great one!

  3. Is Lord of London Town a standalone? I might want to try it, if you end up liking it. I don't know that I want to commit to a series right now, though.

    1. From what I'm told, it can be read as a standalone, but there will be more books in the series. I'm not sure if they'll be told by the same characters or some of the side ones. But I will tell you this... the book is freaking good!

  4. Natalie, I am so sorry to hear you are still in a reading slump 🙁 I was also struggling with my focus, but I have been able to recharge my reading by taking part in the Novellas in November reading event, as it is a lot easier to dip in and out of novellas when you're struggling to focus. I am currently reading the golden-age mystery, Crooked House by Agatha Christie. I really hoep you will be able to get your reading mojo back soon! 🙏🤞🙂

    1. Thank you so much, Jessica! I think I'll do something like that. I have quite a few anthologies sitting on my bookshelves, so it makes sense. And it is easier to dive into a novella than a novel. Thanks for your best wishes :)

  6. Lord of London Town sounds very intense. I hear you on keeping your options open as well -- just go where you want to when the time comes for you to make a choice.
