The Labyrinth is a place of deals and desire, where the wealthy and dangerous play. Asterion's word is law, and he rules the club and fighting arena with an iron fist. As a member of the Court of Styx, no one in Greece is willing to risk crossing him...well, almost no one.
Ariadne is an assassin, with no job too hard or too dirty. She'll do anything to get revenge on her powerful, a-hole boss who murdered her sister and is keeping her in debt to him. When she receives the contract of her life, everything she's ever wanted is in reach.
She only has to kill Asterion, the most dangerously sexy man she's ever met, and piss off Hades in the process. No problem.
ASTERION is a modern re-telling of the Greek Minotaur Myth. It contains adult content, including violence, swearing, and steamy sex scenes.

Up for some action and adventure with a strong dose of mythological retelling thrown in?
I don't usually pay attention to what Amazon recommends to me. Seriously, I do not understand their algorithm because most of what they send me is nothing I would want. But this book... kudos to Amazon for getting it right!
I can't help that I adore your crazy, violent, smart ass self."
After a lifetime trapped underground, becoming a monster of lore, Asterion is finally free to live the life he was always meant to thanks to his uncle Hades. Yes, that Hades. Unfortunately for him, there's a human militia group out there who believe they are monster killers and he's been made their latest target. And Ariadne is the assassin they manipulate to get the job done.
He'd never been in love, but it would explain his need of her, his constant desire to protect her.
Mine, the Minotaur said, and he felt the truth of it settle deep inside of him.

All Ariadne wants is to be free of her master. If that means she's got to kill another bad guy, then that's what she'll do. But why doesn't she get bad guy vibes from Asterion?
Because someone is working behind the scenes to manipulate them all!
Throw in an instant connection between Ariadne and Asterion and you've got the makings of a great story. To say I was entertained would be an understatement. I've already got the next book loaded up. I want to learn more about everyone. There's Hades, of course, and Medusa, Erebus, Thanatos, Charon and I'm sure so many more I'll get the chance to meet soon.
I love when a new-to-me author draws me in right from the start. I'm recommending this series!!
About the Author
Alessa Thorn believes that all monsters and villains deserve their happy endings. She prefers her clothes black, eyeliner winged and books full of hot romance. She thinks heroes are boring, so her first series 'The Court of the Underworld' centers around dark gods, monsters and villains from her favorite Greek Myths.

haha I don't understand Amazon's algorithms either. But I am thrilled that this one worked out for you. I agree that a new to you author worked well for you. I am not really into monster romance, but those quotes are tempting.
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of a monster romance. He's a demigod and holds a human shape for most of the book. The minotaur is for when he fights :)
DeleteIt was a really good read
Oh, wow! That's awesome Amazon got this one right for you!
ReplyDeleteRight?! Maybe next time I won't be so quick to dismiss lol
DeleteThank you for taking the time to leave a comment because I absolutely love getting and giving them!
